was thereafter appointed Minister of Gender Equality, Child Development and
Family Welfare from 24th January 2017 to 15th November
is now the Vice-Prime Minister and Minister of Local Government and Outer
Islands and as from 27th July, 2018 she is also the Minister of Gender Equality, Child Development and Family Welfare.
has been a Solicitor registered on the Roll of the Supreme Court of Mauritius
pursuant to the Law Practitioners Act, a legislation governing the practice of
law in Mauritius.
has more than 25 years standing with experience in family matters and appeared
in all courts of Mauritius, including the Supreme Court and the Family Division
of the Supreme Court.
has given expert legal opinion on family matters in proceedings before English
Court on a number of occasions.
has also been a parliamentarian observer of the general elections held in Zambia
in 2007 and in Seychelles in 2015.
